The Law, Politics, Economy Review of New-Caledonia (Revue Juridique, Politique et Économique de Nouvelle-Calédonie, RJEPNC) has been nationally recognized by the Agency for Research and Tertiary Education (AERES). It is the only local periodical which, twice a year, publishes articles on legal, political and economic issues of concern to the archipelago inhabitants.
Sensitive subjects are addressed using a science-based approach, particularly when they deeply affect the Caledonian institutions to come. New-Caledonia has been built on historic agreements (Matignon, 1988 and Noumea, 1998) which have to be constantly scrutinized very closely and accurately understood. Which is precisely what the Review focuses on.
Pluralist scientific information, either on or in connection with New-Caledonia or on the Pacific area at large, is always published in French. It is intended to disseminate law doctrine, jurisprudence, texts of norms, bibliographical literature and references.
The RJEPNC has been published for over ten years now and is well known in the South Pacific area and in France. The high standards of analyses and arguments proposed are deemed to be particularly useful to Public Authorities but also private persons who have consistently supported it from the very beginning.
Constantly focusing on issues and refining ideas, it is the echo of existing open debates, it presents public figures, thus striving to be a reflection of the multicultural and multiethnic Caledonian society.
Clarifying inconsistencies, the RJPENC helps make the connection between past, present and future. Showing just how far New Caledonia has come and the path to be followed, it helps pave the way for a “common destiny” for all and every New Caledonian.
